Course Description:
A basic level college algebra course including topics such as solving, applying and graphing linear and quadratic equations and inequalities, as well as exponential and logarithmic properties; linear quadratic, rational, absolute value and square root functions; functions operations, compositions and inverses; and systems of equations and inequalities, all among applications taught and used throughout this course level.
Learning Objectives:
- Apply algebraic techniques to simplify, factor, and expand polynomial, rational, and radical expressions.
- Solve linear, quadratic, rational, exponential, and logarithmic equations and inequalities, and interpret their solutions in real-world contexts.
- Graph and analyze functions (linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic), identifying key features such as domain, range, intercepts, and asymptotes.
- Use algebraic models to represent and solve applied problems, including systems of equations and real-world applications.
